The Diocese of Laredo is set to mark its 25th anniversary with a commemorative Mass at 10 a.m. at Sames Auto Arena on Saturday, Aug.
9, expecting about 9,000 attendees + volunteer support for a safely distributed Eucharist. Father Joe Cadena said the celebration follows a year of events including youth gatherings and Eucharistic processions in Laredo and Eagle Pass, and a special pre-service show will begin at 9 a.m. on air + online.

6 for outstanding service in education. State officials presented the award — recognizing their leadership and dedication to the school.
🏛️ Government
Webb County officials said the new Sheriff's Office administrative building on Farragut Street is expected to open by October after years of planning, funding hurdles, and construction delays.
The county spent over $10 million on renovations plus $1 million for the Emergency Operations Center as repairs addressed issues like roof leaks and delayed equipment.
