On October 4 at Texas A&M International University, the Society of Martha Washington will hold its fourth annual Pink Walk to raise funds for Mercy Clinic Laredo—supporting diagnostic testing and cancer treatment.

Organizers said the funds will help cover mastectomies and follow-up chemotherapy for patients in need.

Frequent tennis players in Laredo have noticed renovations at the Market Street Tennis Courts as the city works to repair cracked floors that caused unpredictable bounces during tournaments — the project is expected to finish sometime in 2026 amid ongoing repairs.

Local resident Filberto Martinez noted that players had complained the court conditions sometimes cost them valuable points.
